We offer the most authentic Vintage Inspired guitar finishes in the world. Using exclusively 100% Nitrocellulose Lacquer, we custom mix and hand craft every guitar and finish the original way. Every step of our process is as close to the way things were done in the 50’s and 60’s as possible. Our goal is to keep the golden era of guitar making alive today!
Nitrocellulose is the most abundant organic polymer on earth. It is dissolved in a solvent, Lacquer. This combination was developed, then adapted for guitars in the early 1900’s for its ability to protect the wood, without inhibiting resonance and the ability for the “instrument to breathe”. As well as its depth of beauty and luster. Most guitar companies have modernized, adding plasticizers or switching to Synthetic Polyurethane in order to achieve a quicker and easier process. While the player endures the high cost of a lower functioning instrument that just doesn’t feel as good to play. MJT Aged Guitars is one of the last places in the world where you can still find a 100% Nitrocellulose Lacquer Guitar that can Age with you.

Restoring & Refinishing
There's nothing quite like taking a vintage guitar and restoring it to its past glory. Or taking off the thick plastic-like finish of a newer guitar and giving it the MJT® treatment. Our Stripping, Refinishing, and Restoring services are here for you. No guitar is beyond saving!
